About Our Senior Pastor
Bishop Farris Long II is the Senior Pastor of Kingdom Life Church, where his heart for God and people fuels a ministry rooted in love, transformation, and Kingdom purpose. He is a passionate preacher, caring teacher, and visionary leader known for delivering Spirit-filled messages that bring real, lasting change.
Born in Alexandria, Virginia and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Bishop Long comes from a strong legacy of ministry. His father served as a pastor in various parts of North Georgia, with his longest and most impactful pastorate based in Clayton, GA. His mother also served in ministry as a chaplain, and their example of faith and service shaped him from an early age.
Bishop Long preached his first sermon at 17 years old and went on to earn a Degree in Biblical Studies from Truth Bible College & Seminary. With more than 30 years of ministry experience, he has served in diverse leadership roles and continues to walk boldly in his call to preach, teach, and lead.
At Kingdom Life Church, Bishop Long has cultivated a church culture where healing is possible, growth is expected, and every person is empowered to live the Kingdom life. His heart for community transformation drives the church’s outreach and discipleship, creating a ripple effect of change throughout Knoxville and beyond.
Our Roots
Kingdom Life Church was founded in Knoxville, TN by our beloved late Bishop Gary E. Wright—a visionary, a spiritual father, and a man whose legacy still speaks. Through his passionate preaching, deep compassion for people, and unwavering faith, he planted more than a church—he planted a movement of empowerment, restoration, and Kingdom purpose.
What began as a seed of faith has blossomed into a vibrant, Spirit-led community devoted to truth, compassion, and transformation. Though our church may be small in number, we carry a mighty Kingdom assignment.
Today, under the leadership of Bishop Farris Long, we continue to build upon Bishop Wright’s foundation— and our community is growing—not just numerically, but spiritually, emotionally, and missionally. We are raising up people, restoring lives, and releasing the power of Kingdom living in our city and beyond.
